CHINESE CONTEMPORARY ART NEWS ÜBER LYDIA LUCZAY UND SZAJKO ISTVAN
The word abstract comes from Latin and in the verb form means to abstract: to detach from the “material”. Accordingly, to create abstract art presupposes abstracting from something objective, from the material existence of that which is depicted in abstracted form. In this sense, an abstract work of art can always be traced back to something, to something that actually exists, such as objects, landscapes or living beings. In the abstract image, the representational lies in the eye of the beholder. Colors and shapes play the decisive role. They are the only support for the viewer, who is on a journey of discovery. Not an easy task, but one that always provides him with new insights.
